About

An old, recently restored building just off the High Street on early, possibly Saxon, foundations, forming part of one the burgage plots of the original Norman settlement of the eleventh century. Access is via a yard which is shared with the owners’ sixteenth-century, Grade-2 listed town house and with a small late-medieval barn.

Beautifully furnished with well-equipped kitchen,  living area, two bedrooms,  a walk-in shower and toilet downstairs and a small bathroom upstairs. Parking is off-street in either the yard area, or there is garaging with an electric-vehicle charging point (metered). There is also secure bicycle storage.

The cottage has its own peaceful courtyard garden, providing security for children and dogs, with views across the town to the surrounding hills. It is looked down on by the ‘writer’s gargoyle’ and a tree house.
Sleeps 3 people.

From £216 for 2 nights inclusive of heating, bedding and towels etc., minimum  2 nights.

No smoking but dogs welcome downstairs.
