The Bishop's Castle & Beyond 3 Peaks is a challenging walk consisting of three peaks: Black Hill, Stiperstones and Corndon Hill. The total distance of the challenge is around 12 miles, and it takes most people around 6-8 hours to complete.

Where are the BC & Beyond 3 Peaks located?
The Bishop's Castle & Beyond 3 Peaks are located in South Shropshire and the Welsh borders. The walks offer incredible views across beautiful and rugged countryside. The three peaks are all within a short drive of each other, making it possible to complete the challenge in a single day, however many walkers choose to undertake the walks over separate days.
Route details
Black Hill, Clun - From Clun Castle car park, this walk takes you through vibrant woodlands teeming with wildlife to the peak, at 441m high. It is the 13th highest peak in Shropshire and offers stunning views of Shropshire and the valley of the River Clun. The route covers a distance of approximately 5.5 miles and the difficulty rating is strenuous.
Stiperstones - This circular walk begins at the base of the hill and offers some of the most spectacular views across the county. Standing at 536m high, it is the highest peak of the three and covers a distance of 5.2 miles and classed as moderately challenging.
Corndon Hill - Just over the border in Powys, Corndon Hill's peak sits at 513m high. The route starts at Mitchell's Fold car park, takes you to the summit past several Bronze Age burial cairns and offers incredible views across Shropshire and Wales. This walk is the shortest of the three at 1.5 miles and is rated as easy and suitable for beginners.
What to expect
The BC & Beyond 3 Peaks challenge runs from easy to challenging, so there is something for everyone. The views from the summits of the three peaks are simply stunning, and you will pass through some beautiful countryside along the way.
The challenge is best attempted in the spring or autumn when the weather is mild. However, it is important to be prepared for all types of weather, as the Shropshire Hills can be unpredictable.

There are a number of areas of interest nearby to each peak trail. Here are a few suggestions:
- Clun Castle is a great place to enjoy a picnic and explore the local history. Overlooking the picturesque town of Clun, the castle is free to access all year round.
- The Bog Visitor Centre is a great place to learn about the history and wildlife of the area. Light refreshments are available, including a range of local craft items.
- Mitchell's Fold is a bronze age stone circle on Stapeley Hill, offering spectacular views towards the Welsh Hills.
