From words to song – a conversation between composer Jonty Lefroy Watt and poet Zadie Loft

Description: Join composer Jonty Lefroy Watt and poet Zadie Loft as they discuss the process of setting words to music and try to answer questions like: “What does Rome sound like?”, “Should feminist music be fast or slow?” and “Do you think Atlas feels embarrassed now that the world seems to hold itself up?” Their discussion will be illustrated by live musical examples from mezzo-soprano Mia Serracino-Inglott and guitarist Declan Hickey, and will culminate in a performance of ‘Roma Indicta’, a brand new collaboration between Jonty and Zadie.
