Things To Do

Nature

Take in the breathtaking views and waterfalls of the Long Mynd. Watch the wild ponies as they graze and experience the Stiperstones turn to purple with flowering heather. With much of the area located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the landscape is a treasure trove of natural wonder. The varied landscape provides a range of habitats, home to an array of flora and fauna which remains relatively untouched and unspoilt.

The Shropshire Wildlife Trust has reserves at both Old Churchstoke, which has also been given SSSI status, due to its huge diversity of species, and at Stiperstones. They, and other organisations, are responsible for the “Back to Purple” project, helping to restore local heathland and wildlife.
