In the valley of Darnford Brook and River East Onny, Ratlinghope has been known as a stop off for travellers in the Shropshire Hills throughout history. On the lower slopes of the Long Mynd, surrounded by wild uplands, this hamlet has also gained fame as a filming location including the popular BBC sitcom, Green Green Grass.
