Once you’ve finished, get some much-needed rest and relaxation in one of several dog-friendly establishments that offer food, bed, and board.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful country walk or looking to soak up some spectacular scenery, here is a list of the best dog walks in the area.
Local Dog Walks in the Area
Linley Hill
This circular walk brushes the Welsh borders as you explore miles of open countryside. There’s plenty of space if you’re looking for off-lead walking, including stunning views and ancient trees. You’ll also pass through the picturesque village of Norbury, offering a chance to stop at The Coach House for a bite to eat or a place to stay for the night.
Clun Circular
Perfect for experienced walkers, this route offers samples of three of the counties long distance footpaths – The Shropshire Way, Offa’s Dyke and the Jack Mytton Way. It begins by the river and the ruins of Clun Castle, then leads you into countryside, north of the village. This is a long walk, but you can always stop by the dog-friendly White Horse Inn for a hearty meal, once you’re finished.

The Stiperstones Circle
A circular walk of 5 miles up to the Nipstone Rock. This is a great walk if you’re looking for something that you can make longer or shorter, depending on your needs.
The Long Mynd
If you’re looking for something less strenuous, this walk covering 9.6 miles is the perfect opportunity to take your dog for a walk while enjoying some magnificent views across the hills. With many routes allowing you to increase or decrease the length, it’s a trip not to be missed.
Onny Meadows
Take a stroll through the water meadows by the River Onny. A perfect place to take the whole family, including your pup. There are benches along the way for you to pause and take in the scenery including chances to spot local wildlife such as dragonflies and damselflies.
Brown Clee
A circular walk that covers some of the Shropshire Way and allows you to climb the highest hill in Shropshire. Not for the faint of heart, this is a lengthy trek, around three hours, in full. So be sure to bring plenty of water and only take your pooch if they’re sure to make the journey.
