Made In Monty is a husband and wife team, previously shop was in Bishop’s Castle and is now based in Arthur Street Montgomery, just 5 minutes walk from their home. The shop sells their blank greetings cards, made from Richard’s artwork, along with his originals, the small originals start at £11.99. Jewellery items designed by Val and finished by Richard. (Repairs and re-threading can be undertaken). Val adorns eco friendly hessian bags with a variety of designs, along with sheep themed garlands and mirrors. Christmas decorations are featured from the middle of the year made by Val and together they both make clocks and tide clocks. This in between working alternative days in the shop.
In addition the couple offer quality items especially selected by them. Italian leather purses, wallets and bags, other leather items eg keyrings, card holders and passport holders, bamboo socks, leather belts and a huge selection of scarves (when time allows, Val paints silk scarves). The shop has a small selection of haberdashery and art materials.
Richard was a scenic artist at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre for 32 years and Val had been an Independent Financial Adviser, prior to moving to Montgomery, they ran a B&B on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Scotland in a house they designed and built themselves.
